Searching for an engagement ring in Utah is hard. A few years ago, when my husband and I were searching we became completely overwhelmed with the decision. There are soooo many places to search, each claiming they have the best diamond or the classiest bands.

That’s why I’ve decided to put together this list of my top 7 jewelry stores in Utah for engagement ring shopping. Each of these has unique benefits so feel free to check out multiple in your area.

Since I’m from Davis County and live in Utah County, this list will be limited to the top locations on the Wasatch Front. If you live in St. George or elsewhere in Utah, I’ve tried to note if the business has other locations beyond my immediate area. Hope you find this useful!

*These are in no particular order, just great shops that all offer great experiences.

# 1 FORGE Jewelry Works

Image found at www.forgejewelryworks.com/

This Jewelry store, located at 2255 N. Unversity Parkway in Provo, Utah is known for excellent customer service and absolutely no pressure. It has over 1,000 five star reviews on Google and somehow (as of February 2022) has no 1, 2, 3, or even 4 star reviews. If you’re on a budget, or worried about a pushy salesperson, FORGE is a great place to check. Here’s what people are saying about FORGE online:

“What an amazing store! Victoria and Jennifer were both super helpful and did a great job. They helped us design the ring of my fiancée’s dreams and we never felt any sense of pressure! I was shocked by how affordable it was for a custom ring, and it came only 16 days after we ordered it! If you’re shopping for a ring, you need to check these guys out!” - Jackson Larimer

“My fiancé and I cannot say enough good things about FORGE!! Everyone was so helpful, and Shawn (the owner) personally helped us and answered any questions we had. We loved how chill the environment was too-absolutely NO pressure, which is something we experienced at other jewelry stores. I absolutely LOVE the ring I got from them and receive compliments on it several times a week :) We cannot thank you all enough!” - Rachael Fuhirman

# 2 Morgan Jewelers

My husband and I ended up getting my engagement ring at Morgan. They have locations in Layton, Logan, Murray, Ogden, Orem, Salt Lake City, Sandy, St. George, and West Valley City. They also have expanded to a few out of state locations including Idaho and Washington.

Our experience at Morgan Jewelers was amazing. We had the nicest saleswoman ever who helped me pick out the perfect ring for our (tiny) budget. I loved how organized they were. Rather than showing us 10 or 15 rings at a time she showed me 2 and would ask me which I liked better. This helped me make up my mind a lot easier! There was also absolutely no pressure to buy, which we loved. (See our engagement video here)

They also have a 4.8/5 star rating (at their Orem location where we shopped). Here’s what others have said about Morgan online:

“Such an amazing place to do business with. I was referred here to buy my ring as well as my fiances ring. They even helped me in planning my proposal and made me feel like they truly cared about this journey. Very sweet staff who really cares about your individual budget and wants. Would recommend to anyone who is looking to buy a ring.” - Jakob Hartstock

“While we were there we felt no pressure whatsoever! Mckenna answered all of our questions (mostly mine) and did everything possible to help us feel comfortable. We felt at ease the whole time. Because of that, we didn’t feel the need to go to any other jewelry stores because we found exactly what we wanted.” - Emma Fairbanks

“WOW I love this place. We went to SO many jewelers (20+) looking for a unique engagement ring. We walked into this store not expecting much and were so pleased with the selection. They have the classics, but also more current trends (the type of stuff I thought you could only get on

etsy)...” “Also-- they are very affordable! I thought it would be more expensive then other stores but they were right on par. We paid just $900 for our custom ring. I couldn't recommend them enough!”

“Tracy is fantastic. I had a very positive experience. She helped me to customize and design a beautiful engagement ring and it turned out exactly what I wanted. Highly recommended.” - Mahdi Takalloo

If you want the personal touch and quality along with great service I recommend Ari Diamonds.” - Debbie Jacoby

“Ari Diamonds in Layton is the only jeweler my family and I will do business with. Paul is honest to a fault and has saved us thousands over the years, being truthful about quality, cut, and clarity when other stores tried to pawn us off. Paul and his team helped me design a custom engagement ring and band for my wedding, has given me great deals on diamond earrings, helped me with surprise gifts, and even came to our wedding reception. There is no better jeweler in Utah.” - Brogan

# 7 The Gem Studio

Last is not least on this list. The Gem Studio is not your traditional jeweler. At the Gem Studio you’ll be making your own ring. This is not the place for your cookie-cutter diamond engagement ring. But that is no reason to count this place out. Go here for a unique experience at their “workshops”. Expect to spend 2-3 hours crafting your ring here with expert help. Check out their website to see if this adventure sounds like the right fit for you!

“Provo store was an absolute dream!!! Jenna and Saige made our night amazing.  They are super friendly, helpful, and very patient with my wife's incredibly elaborate ring.  Best staff ever!!!!  A wonderful experience to just come in, choose stones, choose  silver pattern derails, we even got to stamp our marriage years into the rings.  I was expecting the staff to make the rings but I actually got to pound, weld, polish and do a lot of the work myself.  Definitely a MUST GO!!” - Michael Gray
