About Whit

Well hey!

I’m Whitney Drebot, a Utah photographer with over 10 years of experience. My last name might be hard to pronounce (the silent 't' will get you), but you can call me Whit.

I'm married to a cute boy named Josh and I love him to pieces. My favorite show is the Office and I love drinking grapefruit juice (hence the grapefruit-shutter logo)! I have an Art and Design degree from Utah Valley University and I love photography!

I believe it is vital to get to know your photographer before hiring them, so feel free to peak through my background below and get to know me a little bit better.

How I Started

In elementary school, my mom purchased a cheap version of Photoshop Elements and I was hooked. It wasn't long after this that I received my first camera.

I remember having photoshoots with my friends in my parents unfinished basement all the time. One of my most favorite memories was when I made some of my friends dress up like they went to Hogwarts and I took pictures of them jumping with a broomstick and then later Photoshopped them to make it look like they were playing a game of Quidditch.

From there on out photography and graphic design were my thing. I took as many Photography, Digital Media, and Art classes as I could in Jr. High and High School.

My Wedding Photography Journey

After High School I served a mission for my church in Orlando, Florida for a year and a half. When I returned home from my mission I began college at Utah Valley University in Orem Utah.

I chose to be an Art and Design major because it allowed me to study both Photography and Graphic Design which I use to make wedding invitations.

In my first year in college I met the cutest boy named Josh. (feel free to read all the deets HERE) We obviously fell madly in love and we got married in June of 2018. He's the love of my life and the biggest cheerleader of this little business of mine.

After having a great experience with my own wedding photographer, I decided I wanted to start photographing weddings myself!

The first full wedding that I ever shot was for my best friend Jordan who married her sweetheart Trent. From then on I was hooked and I've absolutely loved being a wedding photographer ever since.

What Wedding Photography Means To Me

Wedding photography is one of the most precious things that exists in the world of technology.

The ability to capture a moment in time and preserve it forever is truly beautiful. It is my passion to capture the most important moments in the lives of my clients so that the memory of their most important days can be remembered forever.

FAQ

How did you get started in photography?

I got started with photography back in high school. I took some classes and did family portraits for friends and neighbors.

Later, after having a great experience with my own wedding photographer, I decided I wanted to start photographing weddings and launched my professional photography career!

Do you shoot destination weddings?

I am more than willing to travel! Pricing for weddings outside of the Wasatch Front in Utah will include additional travel costs. Please contact me for inquiries about destination weddings.

How would you describe your style?

I describe my photography style as light, airy, and true-to-color. My clients prefer images that capture the true spirit of their wedding or event. I avoid the use of heavy edits, wild color adjustments, and dramatic filters. I aim to create photos that will outlive the trends and look stunning now and in 20 years!

What kind of gear do you use?

I shoot with a Canon EOS R and the Canon EOS RP. I always bring two cameras with me to every shoot so that I'm always prepared incase something goes wrong! I shoot with a variety of lenses and other equipment. My lenses of choice are the Canon RF 35mm lens, the Canon RF 24-105mm lens, and the Canon EF 50mm lens

Do I have to order prints through you?

Nope! You are welcome to order prints wherever you choose! However, I do offer printing options that clients can order right from their photo galleries and if you ask nicely I may just give you a discount code! πŸ˜‰
